Embrace It! (This one is for the Ladies)

Hello Folks! This blog for today is for the Ladies (sorry Gents!). I'll post one for the guys tomorrow.

I just came from the hospital, my sister and I were visiting my lovely Aunt. This woman is such an inspiration to me and she represents a Strong Black Woman in my eyes. My definition of what that is does not directly reflect what the "typical" woman would perceive it to be.

To me a Strong Black Woman is a woman that can keep her family together, despite all the adversity her family may face. A woman that takes care of the bills and still maintains her home. A woman that is tough yet still maintains her feminine side.

There is so much more, but that list can go on and on. This does not only apply to Black Women in particular, it applys to any woman that is a loving individual. The only reason why I say that term SBW is because it's a commonly misused phrase. If a woman has to state the fact that she is a strong woman every 10 seconds of the day is a clear indication that she's a lot more fragile than she realizes. If I ruffled a few feathers... So what!

We live in a society that does not exactly value women as a whole. We are naturally the nurturers and caregivers. For awhile I saw something wrong with that. It is mostly portrayed in a negative light. It seems like sometimes the worse thing is to be a woman. We have to compete in a "Man's World." If we show emotion we are too weak and fragile to work with men. If we are too assertive then we are called out of our names. If you are beautiful you aren't always taken seriously. All the while dealing with our cycles! (The monthly dot). So why would we want to be women? Lol I've asked myself that for years. I used to wish I wasn't born a woman. I'm being completely honest.

I now appreciate being born as I was meant to be, because I began to truly value myself. There's nothing wrong with being feminine. There must be a balance in this world just as well as there is masculine energy, feminine energy also exists. So many women are trying to fill in the role of the man. I understand certain situations (single parent home) where a woman would have to be the nurturer and provider. Do it with that feminine flair, that only a woman can do.

The fact is if a woman is completely confident in knowing who she is, there is no way she can lose her identity or let someone else define her. If us women maintain the balance in our lives, we truly can have it all. You must believe it.

Until next time Divas!

When something's good...

Hello folks! Happy Hump Day! I hope everyone is doing well, I sure am.

Last night, my sister dragged me to a local bar for Erotic Poetry Night. I had a small sample of my Cake Batter mixture in Shea Butter. I didn't realize that others around me were able to smell it. If I thought I wasn't doing business last night... I thought wrong! Both of my sisters shout out my products when given the opportunity.

The moral of the story is... When you possess something amazing you can't keep it concealed forever. Trust and believe others will shout you out!

Until next time folks!

Mental Relaxation

Hello Folks! Happy New Year to everyone. I pray that this year has started off smoothly for all.

So as I'm becoming older and more experienced with life, I'm beginning to realize certain things. One thing I've realized is that we as people sometimes create obstacles in our heads. Sometimes we can make something truly bigger than what it should be.

So as this has been realized , take a moment to reflect over some decisions you have made. Did you make the best decisions? Did you tend to overreact to a situation?

Now that you have mentally answered those questions, what do you plan to do to change that? So it causes you less stress and allows you to make choices with a clear state of mind.

Lately I've been guilty of over analyzing current situations and I feel that finding the source and fixing my actions can help. Sometimes thinking too much isn't that good for you. I'm going to attribute this thinking to my constant headaches! Lol

So if you must dig deeper to quiet your busy mind, then by all means do so!

Until next time folks!
